Although the recipe for making mayonnaise is given at the end of the book, keeping a bottle of ready made one is a good idea. It has a longer shelf life than the home made one and is very handy at times. Similarly it is good to stock ready made salsa and mustard paste too. Tetra packs of fresh cream also have a longer shelf life than the fresh dairy cream. Salads add roughage and nutrition to your meals, turning an ordinary meal into a healthy one.
